Manufactured in 1946. In-house designed 10W power amplifier and a Pye-derived tuner (based on the Pye 18A Radio) 200-240V AC/DC supply for amplifier, AC-only supply for tuner. Garrard RC65 78/33 RPM Autochanger

Modern-styled veneered cabinet (very heavy), with large (10”) inbuilt ported speaker.

Amplifier valve line-up: EF37A (3), EL32 (4), 1R5 (2). Unusual paralleled pairs of EL32s to allow suitable power from a low HT line (250V).

Tuner valve lineup: ECH35, EF39, EBC33, AZ31. No RF stage so fairly insensitive. External antenna required.

This 607 was completely restored in 2009/2010 by Jeremy Owen and Nick Taylor (son of Paul Taylor, Pamphonic’s co-founder). It now looks and sounds fantastic!
